Private Luxury Retreat Villa — Al Ain, UAE
Location
Al Ain, United Arab Emirates
Bespoke Weekend Residence | Approx. 10,764 sq ft (1,000 m²).
Designed for a prominent high-net-worth private client from the United Arab Emirates, this bespoke residence in Al Ain was envisioned as a private weekend retreat — a sanctuary offering calm, privacy and reconnection away from the fast-paced rhythm of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Located in the client’s hometown, Al Ain holds a unique significance within the UAE. Known as the "Garden City" and renowned for its natural springs and abundant greenery, it provided the perfect setting for a residence focused on wellbeing, reflection and family life. The ambition was not simply to create another luxury villa, but to design a place that would serve as a meaningful escape from the intensity of metropolitan living.
From the earliest concept stages, the architecture was developed around the idea of creating a contemporary oasis rooted in its landscape and cultural context. I led the project from A to Z, overseeing the entire creative direction, architectural concept, spatial strategy, interior vision, landscape design coordination, luxury positioning, supplier organization and overall lifestyle experience.
At the heart of the villa lies a large internal courtyard — the emotional and architectural core of the residence. More than a source of volumetric natural light, the courtyard functions as a contemplative sanctuary filled with native vegetation and carefully curated desert planting. It creates a direct connection between architecture, nature and wellbeing, offering spaces for meditation, relaxation and quiet moments throughout the day.
The landscape concept preserves and celebrates existing local desert trees originally found on the site while introducing a refined blend of indigenous species adapted to the climate of Al Ain. This approach creates a timeless garden environment that feels authentic to its location rather than imported or artificial.
Architecturally, the villa draws inspiration from the natural forms of the UAE landscape. Soft organic geometries and flowing spatial transitions reference the movement of desert dunes sculpted by the wind, while the natural stone façade was selected to echo the warm tones and textures of the surrounding sands. The result is an architectural language that feels contemporary yet deeply connected to place.
Designed according to the principles of Investment-Driven Architecture, the project balances emotional value with long-term asset appreciation. Every design decision was intended to enhance desirability, exclusivity and architectural longevity while creating a truly unique living experience.
The residence features expansive family living spaces, a formal majlis for receiving distinguished guests, a private family majlis, a dedicated wellness zone including spa and gym facilities, a private executive office and multiple luxurious master bedroom suites. Outdoor areas are centered around a resort-style swimming pool and landscaped relaxation zones designed to encourage year-round outdoor living and complete privacy.
Large glazing systems, carefully layered lighting and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions allow natural light to shape the experience of the home while reinforcing the connection between interior spaces and the surrounding gardens. The interiors were conceived to feel both monumental and intimate — combining understated luxury with warmth, serenity and sophistication.
Today, the project has entered its final implementation phase. Core construction works, flooring, architectural finishes, bespoke kitchen installations and integrated lighting systems have been completed. The villa is currently undergoing final interior fit-out, decorative wall treatments, custom furniture installation and styling, marking the last stage before full completion and handover.
More than a luxury villa, the project represents a contemporary retreat designed around the values of privacy, wellbeing and enduring architectural quality — a place where luxury is expressed through atmosphere, experience and connection to its environment.
