Premium Café Transformation

This project involved the complete transformation of an existing commercial unit into a premium contemporary café designed as a strong lifestyle destination with a distinctive visual identity. The concept was created not only as an interior design project, but as the foundation for a recognizable new café brand where atmosphere, aesthetics, and emotional experience become part of the customer journey.

The design combines Contemporary Luxury with subtle influences of the iconic Memphis aesthetic, resulting in a space that feels artistic, sophisticated, playful, and highly memorable at the same time. The objective was to create an interior that stands out within the local market while remaining elegant, timeless, and commercially attractive.

The transformation aimed to elevate an ordinary service space into a premium hospitality destination capable of becoming a recognizable hotspot within the city — a place associated with style, atmosphere, social experience, and strong visual identity.

The spatial composition is built around a refined palette of soft powder tones contrasted with darker accents, graphic details, and carefully layered lighting. Warm ambient illumination enhances the welcoming atmosphere, while bold visual contrasts introduce rhythm, depth, and character throughout the interior.

Brass detailing was used as a key element of the project, adding refinement and a luxurious glow to the space. Custom brass accents, decorative lighting fixtures, and elegant metallic finishes create a premium identity while complementing the softer pastel palette.

Vertical timber slats were introduced to organize the interior architecture and subtly divide functional zones without disrupting the openness of the café. Their rhythmic geometry creates visual structure and adds warmth and sophistication to the overall composition.

Terrazzo surfaces play an important role within the design language, introducing texture, artistic expression, and a timeless architectural character associated with contemporary hospitality interiors. Combined with soft curves, geometric contrasts, and sculptural forms, the material palette creates a refined interpretation of modern café culture.

Greenery was integrated as an essential architectural element rather than simple decoration. Carefully selected plants soften the geometry of the space, improve atmosphere and comfort, and introduce freshness and natural balance into the interior. The vegetation enhances the sensory experience while contributing to a more welcoming and lifestyle-oriented environment.

An important part of the project was the complete transformation of the building façade in order to establish a recognizable visual identity for the café brand.

The redesigned façade combines contemporary minimalism with warm hospitality-inspired details. Large floor-to-ceiling glazing with elegant black frames allows abundant natural daylight to enter the interior while visually connecting the café with the surrounding urban environment. The transparency of the ground floor creates openness, visibility, and a welcoming atmosphere that attracts attention from the street level.

Horizontal timber slats integrated into the façade act as contemporary architectural shading elements inspired by elegant wooden louvers. On the upper level, they provide additional privacy while introducing rhythm, warmth, and a refined modern character to the elevation.

Carefully selected neon signage and integrated LED lighting elements were introduced to strengthen the café’s identity during evening hours and establish a memorable nighttime atmosphere. Architectural lighting highlights the geometry of the façade while creating a sophisticated urban presence after sunset.

The result is a contemporary hospitality façade designed not only to attract visitors, but to become visually associated with the brand itself.

Lighting played a fundamental role in shaping the emotional experience of the interior.

A layered lighting strategy was developed using integrated LED ceiling lighting, architectural ambient illumination, decorative feature lighting, and warm hospitality-inspired light temperatures carefully balanced to create an intimate, elegant, and highly photogenic atmosphere.

The bathrooms were designed as an extension of the café’s premium identity rather than purely functional spaces. The interiors combine terrazzo textures, warm lighting, elegant mirrors, brass details, and contemporary finishes to create a refined boutique-hospitality atmosphere. Soft indirect illumination and carefully selected materials elevate the user experience while maintaining visual consistency with the overall design concept.

The entire project was conceived as a cohesive branded experience where architecture, materials, lighting, colors, and spatial storytelling work together to establish a strong emotional connection with visitors.

The result is a sophisticated premium café environment that combines contemporary elegance with artistic individuality, transforming an ordinary commercial space into a recognizable lifestyle destination with a distinctive identity, strong market appeal, and elevated commercial value.
