Majlis Automotive Lounge

This project was created for a private client in Dubai — a passionate automotive collector seeking to redefine the traditional concept of a garage within a luxury residence. The objective was to transform an existing villa annex into an exclusive automotive lounge and private collector’s gallery where architecture, hospitality, and automotive passion merge into one immersive experience.

The concept was inspired by the contemporary interpretation of a majlis — a sophisticated social gathering space deeply rooted in Middle Eastern culture — combined with the atmosphere of a private art gallery where collector vehicles become sculptural centerpieces and objects of admiration.

Rather than functioning as a purely technical storage area, the space was designed as a luxurious extension of the villa’s lifestyle environment, intended for entertaining guests, relaxing, and experiencing the collection as part of everyday living.

At the heart of the composition lies an elegant lounge area featuring a refined hospitality bar designed for serving coffee, tea, soft beverages, and light refreshments in accordance with local cultural traditions. Warm architectural materials, natural stone, wood finishes, and metallic detailing create an atmosphere of understated luxury and contemporary Middle Eastern sophistication.

A large panoramic glass partition separates the lounge from the main automotive gallery, allowing the collection to remain visually present from every part of the interior. The vehicles are displayed on individual hydraulic platforms capable of elevating each car from the arrival level to a dedicated presentation position. This transforms every automobile into a curated exhibition object — illuminated, framed, and experienced almost like a contemporary artwork displayed within a museum environment.

Special attention was given to preserving and protecting the long-term value of the collection. An integrated climate-control system maintains stable temperature, humidity levels, and optimized air quality to ensure ideal storage conditions for high-value collector vehicles. The space therefore functions simultaneously as an architectural showroom, private lounge, and high-performance preservation environment.

Large-scale glazing opens the lounge toward the terrace and landscaped garden areas, dissolving the boundary between architecture, nature, and automotive design. This seamless indoor-outdoor relationship allows the experience to feel more like an exclusive luxury hospitality destination or private collector’s club rather than a conventional residential garage.

Lighting played a fundamental role within the project. Layered architectural lighting, integrated LED details, ambient illumination, and focused spotlighting were carefully orchestrated to highlight the sculptural forms of the vehicles while creating a cinematic nighttime atmosphere throughout the space.

The project ultimately redefines what a luxury residential garage can become. Instead of hiding the collection away, the automobiles become part of the architectural identity of the residence itself — integrated into daily rituals, social interaction, and the emotional experience of the home.

The result is a unique automotive sanctuary where architecture, design, hospitality, and collectible engineering converge into a timeless luxury environment designed around passion, status, and lifestyle.
