Bespoke Ultra-Luxury Family Residence

Nestled along the pristine waterfront of Jubail Island, this ultra-luxury private residence was conceived as a calm family retreat for a prominent Emirati family seeking refuge from the intensity of modern urban life. While deeply connected to the vibrant energy and business pace of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the family envisioned a home that would offer an entirely different experience — one centered around privacy, wellbeing, nature and meaningful family moments.

Surrounded by protected mangrove forests, turquoise waters, private beachfront and untouched coastal scenery, the project was designed as a contemporary sanctuary where architecture and landscape become inseparable. The ambition was not simply to create another luxury villa, but to deliver a residence capable of fostering tranquillity, connection and a sense of belonging while embracing one of the UAE's most exceptional natural environments.

I led the project from the earliest conceptual stages, developing the overall architectural vision, spatial strategy, lifestyle positioning and experiential narrative. Every aspect of the design was carefully considered to create a seamless dialogue between the built environment and the surrounding landscape.

At the heart of the residence lies a spectacular double-height living space crowned by a cathedral-style ceiling and framed by expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing. Conceived as the central gathering space for the family, this grand volume captures panoramic views of the mangroves and waterfront while allowing natural light to animate the interiors throughout the day. An elegant gallery overlooking the living room from the upper level reinforces the sense of openness, connectivity and architectural drama.

The villa was intentionally designed to dissolve the boundaries between interior and exterior living. Large sliding glass façades frame uninterrupted views of the surrounding nature, transforming the mangrove landscape, turquoise waters and changing coastal light into integral elements of the everyday living experience.

A sculptural elevator provides seamless access between levels while reinforcing the residence's contemporary and refined character.

The social heart of the home revolves around an expansive family living environment complemented by a luxurious show kitchen designed for entertaining and daily family life. Formal and private dining spaces allow for both intimate gatherings and large-scale hospitality, while maintaining a sophisticated sense of flow throughout the residence.

A secluded internal courtyard filled with lush exotic planting introduces a peaceful green oasis into the architectural composition. Designed as a place for reflection and relaxation, the patio brings natural light deep into the interior while creating a direct connection to nature within the privacy of the home.

Respecting the traditions of Emirati family living, the residence incorporates both a formal majlis for receiving distinguished guests and a separate private family majlis dedicated to everyday gatherings and personal moments. This arrangement creates a balance between hospitality, cultural identity and residential comfort.

The private accommodation consists of several expansive master bedroom suites, each conceived as an independent sanctuary featuring luxurious ensuite bathrooms, generous walk-in wardrobes and carefully framed views toward the waterfront and surrounding landscape. Every suite was designed to evoke the comfort and exclusivity of a world-class hospitality experience while maintaining the intimacy of a family home.

Behind the scenes, a comprehensive back-of-house infrastructure supports effortless daily operation. The residence includes a dedicated service entrance, staff accommodation, a fully equipped preparation kitchen, laundry and support facilities, ensuring complete separation between service functions and family living areas.

Materiality throughout the project emphasizes timeless elegance, natural textures and refined simplicity. Carefully curated finishes, layered lighting and sophisticated architectural detailing create an atmosphere where luxury is expressed through proportion, craftsmanship and experience rather than excess.

More than a waterfront villa, the project represents a contemporary family sanctuary — a place designed to escape the pace of city life while remaining deeply connected to the beauty, culture and natural heritage of Abu Dhabi.
